The best service flows from people with empathy. When I was navigating a difficult and expensive international move at the very height of the COVID-19 crisis, the people at OMF in Casula were with me every step of the way, guiding and helping with great compassion and professionalism. It all started when I was in Japan, preparing to get on a flight with my family of four headed to Sydney. Upon arrival, we were required to enter hotel quarantine for 14 days. Needless to say, it was a stressful time and I wanted to try to smooth the way by arranging beds at home on time for our eventual arrival. I began with the OMF website, which was detailed and easy to use. I jumped onto the chat function and was helped by Abby, who was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Over the course of 3 days in quarantine, I chatted with Abby about 4 times and each time, she remembered me and welcomed me back. It felt like I was working with a friend rather than a company. Abby guided me to an excellent king bed for my wife and I, and two beds for our kids. I ordered online and the process was underway half way through my quarantine. Of course, I was hoping that our beds would arrive on the same day we returned to our Sydney house so that wed have a place to sleep. But I knew that such perfect timing might not be realistic. Nevertheless, I called the Casula store to see what could be done. From the very beginning, Heather was absolutely determined to find a way to help us. She called their warehouse and consulted with her colleagues to see what she could arrange for us. We exchanged emails and a few phone calls. I also spoke to a gentleman whose name starts with a D. He was also very kind. And then came the day when we were released from quarantine and finally went home. Although we were still not sure if the delivery could be made that same day, a staff member named Lina was on the job and, like Heather, she was determined to find a way. I found out later that Lina started calling around, checking stock, and working closely with the delivery man, whose name is Ian. I was delighted to learn that Lina had arranged to get our beds delivered that very same day. When the driver, Ian, arrived, we were frankly blown away by this smiling mountain of a man. He exuded good will and kindness. He was also built of solid muscle! While chatting, I learned that Ian had just got out of major dental surgery and was on his way home for the weekend when Lina asked him to deliver to our house. When he heard that we didnt have a place to sleep, he decided that he had to make the extra trip, and he did. We couldnt have been more grateful. Incidentally, we love our beds. Its extra nice to know that such great products are produced here in Australia. OMF sells a superior product for much less than its competition.
